Technical Director
****** is a live-streamed, free-to-enter poker game show on mobile which features fast, daily live-streamed hosted tournaments where players compete for real-money prizes.
We’re seeking a technical director with extensive experience creating multiplayer mobile games to provide technical leadership to the ****** project and the stellar development team behind it.
Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor the multi-disciplinary development team of frontend engineers, backend engineers, technical artists, and more.
Manage the technical roadmap that factors both technical and business requirements. The best technical solution right now isn’t always the best business decision, and you understand how to balance those potentially conflicting needs.
Design and development of readable, testable, and production-worthy code by following test-driven development (TDD) best practices.
Assist in resolving technical issues that may appear during the live poker game shows.
Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science.
Experienced technical director for multiplayer mobile gaming projects (4+ years).
Experienced managing and mentoring development teams.
Experienced programmer with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Experienced developing multiplayer mobile game clients using Unity, Unreal, or another game engine suitable for mobile games.
Experienced developing highly scalable game backends on at least one cloud provider: AWZ, Azure, or GCP.
Experienced with mobile game networking.
Experienced with publishing mobile games to the App Store and Google Play.
Experienced with some -- but not necessarily all -- of the tech stack: Azure, AWS, Docker, Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, React (TypeScript), Redis, REST, Kubernetes, Terraform, Xcode, Unity (C#), among others.
Skilled at applying TDD practices in developing software.
Skilled at operating Linux with the command-line.
Comfortable with Git and Git hosting services like GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, etc.
Nice-to-Haves:
Background in real-money or social casino gaming.
Background in live-streaming to massive numbers of concurrent mobile devices.
Developed actionable insights using business intelligence and/or analytics.
